События дорамы разворачиваются в 1919 году, на территории оккупированной Кореи. Тогда корейцы пережили по-настоящему быстрый захват страны – настолько быстрый, что ему не успела противостоять действующая армия. Японцы, пришедшие к власти, установили строгие требования к захваченному населению. Именно корейцы должны были теперь обеспечивать чиновников всем, что им требуется. Кроме того, любые развлечения, а также женские собрания были запрещены. С женщинами абсолютно не считались, вследствие чего образовывается отряд Сопротивления, в одном из которых оказывается школьница Ю Гвасун.
Она смело выступает, требуя освобождения корейского населения – во время первых протестов Ю Гвасун храбро отстаивает свою позицию, не соглашаясь с политикой японских войск. Её не волнует опасность – можно ли оставаться в стороне, когда многие другие готовы рисковать, защищая свою страну?
Не привыкшая к жалости, Ю Гвасун не сдается, стойко перенося уготованные ей трудности. Избранный ею путь оставляет девушке две возможности – либо она и её народ победит, либо же она окажется в тюрьме или погибнет. Однако героиня готова на эту жертву.
